What is Finalint?  Why are you here?  Why are WE here?  All questions that deserve answers, but not answers I can generally provide.

I can give the first one a shot, though…

Finalint started life as an adventure in writing software for large companies in and around Birmingham, Alabama.  In general the software was either directly web-based or was written to support web-based systems.  In the course of writing this software, I would occasionally run across issues or hurdles that I was unable to find a solution to on the web sites I normally ask about such things.  I thought, “Hey, someone else has probably had this problem too, I bet they could use some information on how to solve it…” and I would solve the problem and document the solution.  Truth be told, the solution was more for me to reference when I inevitably ran across the problem again (and forgot how to fix it).  But that didn’t stop some other folks from getting some usage out of the articles too.

As time went on, I wanted somewhere to post a broader range of topics and I really didn’t want to manage even more blogs.  So, I converted Finalint into what amounts to my personal blog.  So that’s where we are today.  My posts are probably a bit self-serving, but if someone else finds them useful or interesting, even better!
